Second Express Entry draw of April 2026 issues 324 ITAs

Second Express Entry draw of April 2026 issues 324 ITAs

The second Express Entry Draw of the month of April in the year 2026 has been carried out by IRCC, focusing on the provincial nominees alone.

This round has provided 324 invitation letters to apply for permanent residency through the CRS scores of 786 points and above.

It is the sixth round of PNP draw in the year with the last one having been held on March 30 and inviting 356 applicants with a CRS score of 802 and above.

A decline of 16 points in the CRS cut-off marks from 802 to 786 points is certainly good news for provincial nominees waiting in the Express Entry pool.

Types Of Express Entry Draws Active In 2026

IRCC conducts several kinds of Express Entry draws in order to facilitate the selection process for permanent residence applicants among various programs and streams.

Knowing the difference between these draw types will help applicants determine the draws they can participate in and develop an effective immigration plan.

Draw TypeRecent CRS RangeDescription
Canadian Experience Class507 to 511Targets candidates with skilled Canadian work experience
Provincial Nominee Program710 to 802Targets candidates with a provincial nomination
French Language Proficiency393 to 400Targets candidates with CLB 7 or higher in French
Trade Occupations477Targets candidates with 12 months in an eligible trade
Healthcare and Social Services462 to 467Targets candidates in healthcare occupations
Physicians169Targets doctors with Canadian work experience
Senior Managers429Targets senior managers with Canadian experience

In each draw type, the CRS threshold varies greatly depending on the number of potential applicants and the number of invitations issued by IRCC in each draw.

A category-based draw always features a considerably lower CRS cut-off compared to program-specific draws due to the reduced number of participants in the pool.

Applicants with jobs that belong to more than one category must ensure that their Express Entry profile is correctly classified under the proper NOC code.

Steps For Candidates Who Received An Invitation

Individuals selected through the draw receive 60 days from the date of notification to send in a complete application for permanent residence.

It is important to note that there is no extension period in any way.

It is imperative to send in your application along with all the relevant documents, which could include test results, education assessments, criminal record clearance, and medical tests.

Provincial nominations normally have expiration periods of between six to 12 months depending on the issuing province.

In this regard, one needs to make sure that they have not issued their provincial nomination before sending in an application for permanent residency.

Failure to meet this 60 day window will mean losing out on the invitation.

As such, applicants need to start collecting necessary documents since police certificates from some countries may take up to several weeks.

In the case of medical tests, candidates need to go to the designated panel physicians as appointed by IRCC.

All the results for these tests are sent directly to IRCC by the panel physicians.

As such, candidates are required to provide results from either IELTS, CELPIP, TEF Canada, or TCF Canada and have these results within validity range.

Predictions For Upcoming PNP Draws In 2026

Based on the trend set in the first four months of 2026, it appears that IRCC will continue to hold PNP-specific Express Entry draws every other week.

The next PNP draw may take place sometime in the latter half of April or early May 2026.

As long as the pool of nominees remains low, it is possible that the CRS threshold may go even lower than 786 in future draws.

However, the CRS threshold in PNP draws varies greatly depending upon the number of provincial nominations issued between one draw and another.

A huge influx of nominations from Ontario and/or British Columbia could help increase the CRS threshold, whereas a lack of nominations could cause the threshold to remain low.

Provincial nominees who have yet to receive a nomination should watch out for their province’s schedule of draws and processing times.

For individuals already within the pool of candidates for Express Entry draws, it would be wise to keep their profile updated and accurate.
