If a temporary resident has lost their status or let their authorization to work or study expire, they may apply to restore that status. It is imperative to note that since status and authorization are not the same beneath the IRPA, a candidate can as it were reestablish their status to that of a temporary resident and to the authorization that they held quickly earlier to the restoration application. As an illustration, a student who misplaced their status cannot apply to reestablish temporary resident status with authorization to work.
