Canadian Immigration “In-Canada Focus”
The Immigration Levels Plan 2025-2027 embodies new priorities of immigration in Canada with a higher “in-Canada presence.”
This approach promotes paths and mechanisms that prioritize local talent, especially temporary residents who would want to have permanent status in the country.
The change is tied to a broader immigration plan of meeting enduring human resources scarcities, spurring economic development, and offering better means for residents already in the country to stay long term.
Transitioning Temporary Residents to Permanent Status: Being aware of such human capital, the 2025-2027 plan should enhance the appropriations to the streams, such as CEC under the Express Entry system.
This is because these programs target candidates with Canadian work experience or education which makes the launch into the Canadian work force and society very easy.
In this respect, the plan is on the people already in Canada, thus helping the industries where there is shortage of workers most especially within the health departments, technology market, constructions and the manufacturing market.
The “In-Canada focus” guarantees that these people can do so proficiently, without the need for more settlement or orientation services.

How do draws for Express Entry operate?
The express entry is a system used by the Canada immigration department to deal with the application for permanent residence of the skilled workers.
Once the candidate has made an online profile, he or she is ranked from one to six in areas like education, experience, language proficiency among other factors.
The highest ranking candidates are requested to fill in an application for a permanent residence.
Federal skilled worker program can only apply for express entry if they meet the required general requirements to work in Canada.
