Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released its latest figures for processing times as of June 10, 2026, and this month’s numbers come with an incredible tale of two opposite extremes.
The processing time for citizenship certificates shot up to 15 months due to a queue which gained more than 11,600 new applications during one cycle alone.
At the same time, the processing time for the Atlantic Immigration Program dropped by 12 months, the processing time for work permits in Canada is down to 186 days, and super visas have hit their lowest point of the year for virtually all countries.
The figures are compiled by IRCC based on actual decisions made, and the period when 80% of applicants get their decision is reported.
Monthly categories such as citizenship, permanent residency, and family sponsorship were last updated on June 8.
The weekly categories such as visit visas, study permits, work permits, and PR cards were last updated on June 10.
Here’s a list of all processing times released in June 2026.

The June 2026 IRCC processing times indicate that significant progress is being made in several areas previously plagued by delays.
The number of days for inland work permits continues its steady drop to 186 days, while the Atlantic Immigration Program lost 12 months in one fell swoop. Super visa approvals have dropped to the lowest figures of the year, and both programs of the Provincial Nominee Program made gains.
However, processing times for citizenship certificates soared, and all spousal sponsorship streams are seeing increases, not to mention that Nigerian work permits have seen an increase in time and visitor record extensions are deeply in the red.
To avoid falling into further delays, it is important for applicants to submit all required documentation promptly and to keep abreast of possible additional documentation needed through regular checks of their IRCC portals.
