First CEC-Express Entry draw of September sent 4,000 PR invites

Today, the first express entry draw of September has been conducted for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) where 4000 ITAs for the PR have been issued.

This draw aimed for the applicants having CRS score of 509 or higher, which means that the cutoff point was higher by 2 points than the previous CEC draw.

This is the 6th Express Entry draw of the year exclusively for Canadian Experience Class applicants and a total of 24,800 have been invited this year till 2024.

Compared to the first CEC draw in May 2024, the cutoff score is, therefore, 13 points lower.

CEC draws resumed after immigration minister Marc Miller suggested that one of the mechanisms of decreasing temporary residents’ population in Canada is their integration into permanent residents.

Tips to Improve Your CRS Score for Future Draws

If your CRS score dropped below the cut-off mark for entry in this draw, there’s no need to panic.

This is because there are several methods that would help to increase one’s score and thus increase the chances of winning in the subsequent draws. Here are some proactive steps you can take:

Boost Your Language Scores: One of the CRS activities that is highly valued is the capacity to communicate in either French or English. The TEF can be taken to increase overall scores in French, whereas the IELTS or CELPIP can be taken to enhance overall rating in English.

Increase Your Education: If you have since procured any new academic qualification such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree, a newly acquired professional certification or any other type of qualification, make sure that your profile has incorporated them. Higher classes can turn up good points.

Gain More Work Experience: More working experience in your field of study especially if the field is recognized as a skill shortage occupation may increase your CRS score. Canadian work experience introduces considerable utility, according to the analysis.

Obtain a Provincial Nomination: Receiving a nomination from one of the Canadian provinces via the Provincial Nominee Program boosts your CRS score by 600 points practically ensuring an ITA.

Get a Valid Job Offer: A clear job offer from a Canadian employer may also increase your CRS score by 200 points based on the kind of job offered and the working conditions of the job.

Spousal Factors: If the applicant’s spouse or partner has good English language proficiency, or education, he or she can also add these factors to the Express Entry profile and get extra points.

If you do the above, then you will increase your odds of being invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada through future draws that will be conducted in the Express Entry system.
