An impressive draw of 2,500 ITAs for permanent residency occurred on August 19, 2025, through Express Entry allegedly targeting experienced workers in the federal skilled trades sector.
This is the third-largest healthcare and social services occupations skilled worker draw, with a CRS score threshold of 470).
So what do you need to know about this important immigration statistic and what does it mean to prospective Canadian citizens?
Full Details of the Express Entry draw today
Date and time: August 19, 2025
Category: 37 Healthcare and Social Services Occupations (Version 2)
CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 470
Number of invitations issued: 2,500
Rank needed: 2,500 or above
Tie-breaking rule: April 23, 2025 at 20:08:53 UTC
The 2,500 ITAs issued mark one of the key areas of the IRCC strategic attention as they strive to support the healthcare sector workforce in Canada during changing economic times.
The rule used to break the tie was that the earliest profiles were selected first and first come first serve applied to all with a CRS score of at least 470.
By comparison, a July 22, 2025, healthcare draw encouraged 4,000 applicants at a CRS cut-off of 475, and smaller draws, such as a May 13 Canadian Experience Class draw, were higher at 547 with 500 invited.
The relatively low CRS score of 470 to this draw indicates the increased number of invites and is good news to those who did not receive one on more competitive draws.
Now it is Thursday, and hopefully some more invitations are to be achieved. Watch this space as we update it.
