New Express Entry Draw on June 23 Issues 4,000 PR Invitations

New Express Entry Draw on June 23 Issues 4,000 PR Invitations

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada made 4,000 invitations to apply for permanent residency in a new Express Entry draw for the Canadian Experience Class on June 23, 2026.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off for an invited applicant in this draw was 516 points.

This is the highest CEC draw since March 2026, when IRCC issued 4,000 invitations in one round.

CRS cut-off score fell by 2 points from the previous CEC draw held on May 27, where a score of 518 was needed to receive an invitation.

It seems that IRCC signals that it returns to large-sized draws following several small-sized rounds for the Canadian Experience Class, which resulted in CRS cutoff scores growth.

This draw follows immediately the record-breaking PNP draw held on June 22, where IRCC issued 955 invitations, returning to the usual draw pattern, where the PNP draw is followed by the CEC draw.

For thousands of applicants in the Canadian Experience Class category, this draw gives good news concerning number of invitations and CRS cut-off score.

Full Details Of The June 23 Canadian Experience Class Draw

The table below contains all the official information for the current Express Entry draw announced by IRCC.

Draw Detail Value
Program Canadian Experience Class
Date and Time June 23, 2026 at 12:52:12 UTC
Number of Invitations Issued 4,000
CRS Score of Lowest-Ranked Candidate 516
Rank Needed 4,000 or above
Tie-Breaking Rule April 14, 2026 at 00:03:10 UTC

The tie-break rule is used to select candidates when more than one profile has the same CRS score at the cut-off point.

Profiles that had a CRS score equal to 516 had to be submitted before 00:03:10 UTC on April 14, 2026.

Those profiles with CRS score of 516 who were submitted after that time point did not get an invitation even if they fulfilled the CRS requirements.

The fact that the tie-breaking date was set to April 14 shows that it is almost two months old and implies the presence of many profiles at 516 CRS score.

This Draw A Good News For CEC Candidates

The year 2026 has not been an easy one for the CEC applicants as there have been fewer draws along with an increased CRS cutoff scores to their highest point of the year.

Starting at a cut-off score of 511 in January, CEC draws have fallen to just 2,000 invitations with an increase in the CRS cutoff score to 515 within four months.

However, the latest draw of May 27 was a slight positive development in that it increased the number of invitations to 3,000 although the 29-day gap led to another rise in the cutoff score to 518.

The current draw follows this trend of increasing invitations to 4,000 while the CRS cut off fell to 516.

It is the first time in almost two months that both these factors have improved for CEC applicants together.

If the current pattern continues in future, and IRCC starts sending out 4,000 or more CEC invitations, then it can help in keeping the CRS cutoff within 512 and 516 during summer.

This would be a much better scenario compared to the 518 cutoff of the last draw and will help those applicants who are sitting between 510 and 517.

Every CEC Express Entry Draw In 2026

The following table shows every Canadian Experience Class Express Entry draw conducted in 2026, including today’s round.

The data reveals a clear turning point where IRCC has begun increasing invitation volumes after months of cuts.

# Date Invitations CRS score cutoff
420 June 23, 2026 4,000 516
417 May 27, 2026 3,000 518
413 April 28, 2026 2,000 514
410 April 14, 2026 2,000 515
407 March 31, 2026 2,250 509
404 March 17, 2026 4,000 507
400 March 3, 2026 4,000 508
396 February 17, 2026 6,000 508
392 January 21, 2026 6,000 509
390 January 7, 2026 8,000 511

The pattern in this table tells a compelling story for CEC candidates watching from the pool.

IRCC cut CEC draw sizes by 75% from January to April, which directly pushed CRS cutoffs from 511 to 515.

The extended pause between April and May added further pressure, sending the cutoff to 518 even as IRCC increased invitations to 3,000.

Today’s 4,000 invitations at CRS 516 represent the first genuine reversal of both trends in over three months.

Total CEC invitations in 2026 now stand at approximately 41,250 across 10 draws.

CRS Cutoff Dropped Despite A 27-Day Gap

This period of 27 days between the May 27th and June 23rd draws should have brought about an increase in the CRS based on 2026 trends.

Each of the previous long periods this year led to an increased CRS due to the buildup of the number of candidates in the top ranks of the pool.

The previous 29 day period took CRS from 514 to 518 when IRCC increased the number of invited candidates from 2,000 to 3,000.

This reduction of 2 points today despite the same period length can only be explained by the fact that IRCC increased the number to 4,000 invites.

IRCC was able to manage this number of invites while absorbing the pool pressure that existed for almost 4 weeks and yet lowered the CRS.

What the previous CRS trend analysis predicted comes true today; that draws exceeding 4,000 is the way to stabilize or reduce the CRS.

The Express Entry pool had 239,645 candidates as of June 21st and the 501 – 600 CRS band had 20,012 candidates.

This draw has reduced that pool pressure of 4,000.

IRCC Restores The Draw Cluster Pattern After Weeks Of Silence

IRCC had been following an unwavering sequence of PNP-then-CEC-then-category draw clusters for much of 2026.

This trend was thoroughly disrupted following the May 28 French-language draw where IRCC maintained silence for 25 days for all draw categories.

Given yesterday’s PNP draw followed by today’s CEC draw, the sequence of draws seems to be back in play.

Should IRCC maintain the trend, a French-language or occupation-based category draw may take place in the coming days.

French-language draws have distributed 30,500 invites in 2026 with the lowest CRS cut-off of 393, making it the most favorable route for applicants.

June 2026 draws predictions had forecasted this exact possibility to occur should IRCC resume its operations towards the end of June.

What This Draw Means Based On Your CRS Score

CRS score from 516 onwards: You were well within the cut-off score range of today’s draw, and you need to get yourself ready for the next draw.

Make sure that your profile is updated, all language tests are up-to-date, and be ready for the 60 day period application process.

CRS score ranging from 510 to 515: The cut-off score is closer to your score compared to the last few draws as CRS had reached a maximum of 518 in May.

With a continued trend of 4000 invitations CEC draws by IRCC, there may be another dip of the cut-off score towards the 512 to 514 range soon.

Take the language test again as that can increase your CLB score and give you an edge over the cut-off score.

If your CRS is from 500 to 509: Current draws of the CEC will not be able to meet your score range and you need to find other options.

A language retake test, addition of spouse language results, and acquisition of Canadian credentials will bring about 20 to 50 extra CRS points.

If your CRS is less than 500: Current CEC draws have not been lower than 507 throughout 2026 and it is very unlikely for them to drop into the sub-500 range.

The draws with the cut-off points as low as 393 in French language proficiency are the best option for Express Entry for those who are qualified.

Provincial nomination will add 600 CRS points and almost guarantee you an invitation in the next PNP draw.

Who Qualifies For Canadian Experience Class Draws

The Canadian Experience Class is designed for candidates who have Canadian skilled work experience and are either in Canada or outside of Canada.

Candidate should have at least 12 months of continuous work experience in Canada as a skilled worker in the last three years in any NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.

The minimum language proficiency test scores required would be at least CLB 7 for NOC TEER 0 or 1 occupations and CLB 5 for NOC TEER 2 or 3 occupations.

The acceptable language tests are: IELTS General Training or CELPIP-G for English; TEF Canada or TCF Canada for French.

Self-employment, work experience acquired while being a full-time student, and unpaid internship cannot be considered towards meeting 12-month requirements of the CEC category.

The recent change in the 2026 Express Entry category increased work experience requirement from 6 to 12 months for category-based draws, however, it does not apply to CEC category eligibility requirements.

What To Expect In The Coming Days

In case the IRCC adheres to the 2026 cluster pattern, a draw based on categorization may come anywhere between 24 to 72 hours.

Categories such as French-speaking skills, healthcare professions, trade occupations, and education occupations have all become options for the draw in question.

The April 2026 draw had predicted that as larger CEC draws happen, cutoff scores would soon approach the 510 to 515 mark.

The current draw validates this prediction and allows CEC candidates to feel like they have passed through the worst of the CRS rise.

However, the next CEC draw date of IRCC has not yet been disclosed but based on the bi-weekly pattern, it can be expected around July 6 to 7.

It is recommended that candidates keep their Express Entry profiles up-to-date, follow the IRCC draw results website daily, and have all documentation prepared in advance.

The June 23rd CEC draw proves that IRCC is prepared to increase the number of invitations and relax the CRS cut-off score following several months of high pressure.

For candidates that got an invitation, the next two months should be treated as a documentation race and a complete application must be submitted without any delay.

For those who are still in the pool, it is highly recommended to update their profiles and have all documents prepared due to the return of the draw clusters pattern.
