This attraction highlights Canada and its commitment in ensuring that economically, the country is committed to diversity in languages as it endeavors to strengthen Francophone immigration beyond Quebec.

The article goes into detail about the newest draw, examines the background behind the preceding draws of the week and includes information about how applicants can be eligible to French draws as well as the current total number of issued ITAs on the ongoing week.

Overview of the August 8, 2025, Express Entry Draw

The most recent Express Entry draw, which took place on August 8, 2025, was focused on those candidates whose levels of French language skills are very strong, to ensure the strategic objective of Canada intending to attract more Francophone immigration not only to Quebec but also to other provinces and territories.

Here are the key details:

Date and Time: August 8, 2025

Category: French Language Proficiency (Version 1)

Number of ITAs Issued: 2,500

CRS Score of Lowest-Ranked Candidate: 481

Rank Required: 2,500 or above

Back-To-Back 3 Express Entry Draws

The week has been very busy as far as Express Entry system of Canada is concerned with three draws that have occurred in this week in which candidate profiles have been varied.

The results of the two previous draws that were conducted before the August 8 French language proficiency draw as well as the cumulative number of ITAs issued in all three are provided below.

First Draw: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) – August 6, 2025

Number of ITAs: 225

CRS Cut-Off Score: 739

Category: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Details: Through this draw, candidates that had been nominated by at least one of the Canadian provinces or territories were invited automatically to the draw with 600 CRS points added to their profile.

The high CRS cut-off reflects this additional 600 points boost in PNP draws, which prioritize candidates with strong ties to specific regions.

The tie-breaking rule for this draw was set on April 23, 2025, at 06:35:51 UTC.

Second Draw: Canadian Experience Class – July 22, 2025

Number of ITAs: 1,000

CRS Cut-Off Score: 534

Program: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Conducted yesterday, this draw targeted candidates with at least 1 year of Canadian work experience in the last 3 years.

The CRS cut-off of 534 was notably higher as compared to the previous CEC draw in July 2025.

Why French Language Proficiency Draws Matter

The Express Entry, introduced in Canada in 2015, is the system that manages the applications towards three federal economic immigration programs, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

In 2023, IRCC put into place the category-based selection draws to select skilled or otherwise candidates for their particular feature or ability, such as the ability to communicate in French to fill labour market gaps and in accordance with the demographics priorities.

One of the principal features of the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan of Canada is Francophone language skills attraction and is aimed at accepting 29,325 newcomers in 2025, 31,350 in 2026 and 31,500 in 2027 outside Quebec due to language skills related to French language.

Such draws give emphasis to candidates who have a minimum level 7 in Niveaux de comp tence linguistique canadien (NCLC) French across 4 language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

Applicants whose French abilities are proficient may also score an additional 56 points on the CRS, giving them a much better possibility of getting an ITA.

Compared to general or PNP draws, where CRS cut-offs are currently as high as 515, the lower CRS cut-offs in French proficiency draws, its low in the August 8 draw, at 481, or earlier in 2025, 379, make it an enticing option to candidates who may not be meeting the mark in general or PNP draws.

How to Qualify for a French Language Proficiency Draw

To be eligible for a French language proficiency draw, candidates must:

Meet Express Entry Program Requirements: Be eligible for the FSWP, CEC, or FSTP.

Demonstrate French Proficiency: Achieve at least NCLC level 7 in all four language abilities (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

Another way of increasing its CRS scores is by taking up a better score in the French language, Canadian work experience or a provincial nomination that provides 600 points and virtually increases the chances of an ITA.

An example would be a candidate such as Amadou who is a 32-year-old mechanic of Cote dIvoire with a bachelor degree equivalent, three years of foreign experience, NCLC level nine in French and CLB level six in English may have a strong CRS score.

The language skills and other aspects of human capital qualify such profiles to be those which make them eligible in French proficiency draws.

Draws initiated by categories such as the draw held on August 8 are category-based draws where the strong proficiency in French language is preferred to the highest scores on CRS, which leads to reduced cut-offs.

Another milestone achieved by Canada in efforts to attract skilled and French speaking immigration is the third Express Entry draw of the week on August 8, 2025.

This draw, with 2,500 ITAs granted at a CRS cut-off of 481, is a good bit of good news to candidates who have good French language skills.

Together with the PNP and CEC draws already performed this week, that count received 3,725 ITAs, with the total in 2025 now at 53128.

With Francophone immigration in Canada still in a prime, and the Government of Canada still working to meet the labour market demands, prospective candidates who have immigration skills and related language abilities have the best chance of developing a future in Canada than ever before.

Candidates can be in a good position in the competitive Express Entry pool to win through optimizing their CRS scores and submitting their profiles earlier and keeping an eye of draw trends.

No matter whether you are a French speaking professional or interested in other prospects, today is the time to do something and reach your Canadian dream.

How many ITAs have been issued in Express Entry draws this week?

This week, the IRCC released 3,725 ITAs under the three draws of the Express Entry program as follows: 225 ITA in the August 6 PNP draw, 1,000 in the August 7 CEC draw and 2,500 in the August 8 French language draw.
