New Express Entry Healthcare Draw Issues 3,000 PR Invitations

The first of three draws held this week by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,574 invitations to apply for permanent residency under the Express Entry system.

On November 20, a new round of invitations for those in the Express Entry system’s healthcare profession pool was issued and offered 3,000 ITAs to those having CRS scores of 463 points or more.

Also 400 ITAS were issued by the IRCC earlier on November 19 to the CEC candidates with CRS score of 547 and above.

In the current draw as compared to the previous CEC draw held on October 22, the CRS qualifying mark has in fact risen by 8 points.

Furthermore, November 18, 733 ITAs went to candidates who created profiles in any of the EE Sub-classes, had CRS of 812 or higher, and had provincial nomination from one of the provinces of Canada.

The CRS cutoff score increased by 4 points in comparison to the November 12, 2024, PNP-only invitation round.

Immigration to Canada: “In-Canada Focus”

This means that the current Immigration Levels Plan 2025–2027 has more focused and prioritised towards people within Canada.

This has valid grounds since the procedure and laws reflected in this strategy are inclined to applicants still in Canada particularly the temporary residents who seek residency.

As far as current residents are concerned, easier methods to become permanent are given, it is a part of an immigration policy to tackle persistent labour shortages, improved economic growth, and integration.

Transitioning Temporary Residents to Permanent Status: The anticipated 2025–2027 plan is to improve funding for programs, including the CEC under the Express Entry, to value the skills and experience of international student temporary foreign workers, among other temporary residents.

Preference is given to people with Canadian education or work experience and therefore, such individuals are well positioned to effectively assimilate into society and a jobs market.

Moreover, the overall plan assists essential sectors plagued by dearth of human resource, including manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and construction due to focusing on those residents of Canada who are already willing to work.

The “In-Canada focus” ensures that these people are able to move right in and do these jobs without requiring further assistance such as orientation and settlement.

How do Express Entry draws work?

The Canadian immigration agency deals with the permanent residency application of the skilled workers through Express Entry.

The online profiles are used to rate the candidates according to their education, work experience and competency with the languages.

The candidates who came out at the top of the list have to submit an application for permanent residence.

Applicants must qualify for any of the federal economic programs of Canada for them to qualify for the Express Entry.
