The Latest Ontario Express Entry Draw Invites 1,307 PNP Candidates to Apply for PR

Today, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw for Express Entry resulted in a total of 1,307 invitations to apply for provincial nomination under the Skilled Trades Stream.

In this round of invitations, all Express Entry profiles scoring between 405 and 435 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) with work experience in one of the 47 skilled trade professions identified as primary NOC were selected.

In addition, this OINP draw has included all active Express Entry profiles established between October 17,24 and that met the above conditions.

The threshold score range has decreased from the previous OINP Skilled Trades Stream draw.

The lowest CRS score range has gone up 5 points, from 400 to 405 while the highest remained unchanged at this draw — for an all-program statement of intent.

The recent federal Express Entry draw has come out with 10 trade occupations, and OINP usually sets an upper limit on the CRS score.

Nevertheless, those in the pool falling under our remaining 35–37 occupations (who might be trade candidates) have been voicing their complaints since both OINP Express Entry draws and Federal Express Entry draws are excluding those with experience.

Those who receive an invitation now have 45 calendar days to accept the invitation and submit a full application in order for B.C. to consider granting them provincial nomination on their path towards Canadian permanent residence.

The OINP then adds 600 points to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of those who receive a PNP-based invitation and apply for permanent residency through Express Entry.

The invited profiles will receive a higher Express Entry CRS score of 1,005 to 1,035 so they are included in the next PNP or all program Express Draw.

The Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw does need a distinct OINP profile, but instead needs eligible profiles to match with one of its effective trade occupations.

Ontario searches the Express Entry pool, which is managed by IRCC and ranks anyone interested in immigrating according to CRS points under various programs linked with a federal Express Entry-linked provincial nomination program.
