New OINP Update The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has already issued 468 invitations with five targeted invitations, which occurred on August 28, 2025.
This is part of the Foreign Worker stream, International Student stream and In-Demand Skills stream aimed at bringing talent to main areas of Ontario.
This new round follows an almost 3-month pause in OINP draws, the last of which were on June 6 2025.
Any profile established between July 2 2025, and August 28 2025, was eligible, with the score thresholds depending on the stream and intended focus.
The information is broken down below so you can see whether you might qualify by a draw or not.
To aspiring immigrants, the draws through these OINP would be a proverbial golden ticket to gain a provincial nomination which, in turn, can expedite the journey towards Canadian permanent residency (PR).
Provided you have, of course, been invited, your employer has to file the application within 14 calendar days to have the approval of your working position according to the new OINP intake system that will be introduced in July 2025.
Ontario-OINP Foreign Worker Stream Draws
The stream focuses on providing Ontario employers with job opening details to foreign workers who have skillsets relevant to the needs of the provincial economy.
Two draws were conducted:
| Date Issued | Invitations Issued | Date Profiles Created | Score Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 28, 2025 | 94 | July 2, 2025 – August 28, 2025 | 53 and above | Targeted draw for candidates in Northern Ontario with a job offer in one of the 92 eligible occupations. |
| August 28, 2025 | 57 | July 2, 2025 – August 28, 2025 | 45 and above | Targeted draw for Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) and with a job offer in one of the 33 eligible occupations. |
Northern Ontario comprises Census Divisions like Muskoka, Haliburton, Nipissing, Parry sound, Manitoulin, Sudbury, Greater Sudbury/Grand Sudbury, Timiskaming, Cochrane, Algoma, thunder bay, Rainy River, and kenora.
In the meantime, the REDI pilot has been directed at individual communities within Census Divisions such as Lambton, Lanark, and Leeds and Grenville, to support local economies by means of strategic immigration.
Ontario-OINP International Student Stream Draws
The stream focuses on attracting, retaining international talent by targeting new international graduates who have employment opportunities in Ontario.
This round had the most invitations to it, and two targeted draws:
| Date Issued | Invitations Issued | Date Profiles Created | Score Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 28, 2025 | 236 | July 2, 2025 – August 28, 2025 | 66 and above | Targeted draw for candidates in Northern Ontario with a job offer in one of the 92 eligible occupations. |
| August 28, 2025 | 56 | July 2, 2025 – August 28, 2025 | 68 and above | Targeted draw for Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) and with a job offer in one of the 33 eligible occupations. |
International students who score higher than these levels, especially those who are interested in Northern Ontario or REDI regions have a high probability of being promoted in their PR application.
Ontario-OINP In-Demand Skills Stream Draw
This stream targets employees in trades and services that are in shortage such as trades and other key services. One draw was held:
| Date Issued | Invitations Issued | Date Profiles Created | Score Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 28, 2025 | 25 | July 2, 2025 – August 28, 2025 | 34 and above | Targeted draw for Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) and with a job offer in one of the 12 eligible occupations. |
Having a reduced score requirement means that talented tradespeople and others with positions that are sought after can contribute to the regional economies of Ontario.

The unlucky ones still have a chance to check the OINP site to watch future draws-their profiles are still alive, and new opportunities emerge on a regular basis.
