New IRCC Update On Latest Processing Times As Of April 2025

IRCC announced new processing period updates through Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) which became effective on April 1, 2025 for visa and permanent residency (PR) and citizenship application processing times.

These modifications from the IRCC affect people who need Canadian visas together with PR cards and citizenship.

The current information about IRCC processing times is available for your upcoming immigration decisions.

During the past four years our company INC – Immigration News Canada monitored IRCC data to provide you with real-time information.

The IRCC implemented a modernized tool during 2022 that relies on current processing statistics to avoid outdated methods of estimation.

Monthly updates apply to citizenship applications and PR applications as well as family sponsorships but PR card delivery and temporary visa delivery happens on a weekly basis.

The processing timelines represent 80% of applications after considering application surges in combination with IRCC’s operational capacity.

The information provided is statistical rather than a guaranteed time frame since your processing duration may differ.

You can find the current IRCC processing schedule for 2025 with month-to-month comparisons in the following data tables.
