For qualified trades people, the Federal Skilled Trades program can be a quick way to obtain Canadian permanent residence and the right to live and work in Canada indefinitely.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is designed for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents because of their qualifications in a skilled trade.

One of the three federal immigration programs controlled by the Express Entry system is the Federal Skilled Trades program. Like all Express Entry programs, Federal skilled trades compares applicants to one another using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and only invites the most competitive applicants to submit applications for Canadian permanent residency.

When individuals apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Trades scheme, individuals must really have worked in a skilled trade National Occupational Classification (NOC) inside or outside of Canada.

To start the procedure as a tradesperson, individuals must first build an express entry portfolio and obtain a Comprehensive Ranking System rating (CRS). To even get a Certificate of Qualification, individuals should first immediately inform your regulatory organization which controls such trade in the desired province. They will evaluate overall education, experiences, & talents to see whether you are qualified to take the certification test. If your trade is still not regulated at the provincial level, it may well be controlled at the federal level.
