Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted yet another Express Entry draw, this time on March 30, 2026.
For the 356 provincial nominees in the Express Entry pool, the long wait for permanent residence is finally over.
As compared to the previous PNP draw held on March 16, 2026, the CRS cut-off score increased by 60 points.
While this draw may not mean a great deal for the thousands of Express Entry hopefuls eagerly watching the Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off, there are a few important lessons that this draw presents.
Here’s a detailed analysis of the March 30, 2026 Express Entry draw and how it affects your immigration journey to Canada.
March 30, 2026 Express Entry Draw Results
This Express Entry draw was for provincial nominees only.
| Draw Detail | Information |
| Draw Type | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
| Number of Invitations Issued | 356 |
| Minimum CRS Score Required | 802 points |
| Rank Required to Be Invited | 356 or above |
| Date of Draw | March 30, 2026 |
| Tie-Breaking Rule | February 12, 2026 at 03:54:03 UTC |
If there are multiple candidates with the lowest rank, the cut-off is determined by the time and date that the Express Entry profile was submitted.
Understanding The 802 CRS Cutoff Score
The minimum CRS score of 802 may sound extremely high.
Well, this number reveals a very different picture if you consider the provincial nomination.
Every candidate who gets a provincial nomination automatically gets an additional 600 points added to his/her profile.
This means that the successful candidates in this draw had a base CRS of around 202 points before receiving the nomination bonus.
The additional 600 points from a provincial nomination once again proved how important a PNP nomination can be for a candidate to get invited for permanent residence.
How The Tie-Breaking Rule Affected This Draw
When there are several candidates with the same score as the cutoff score, IRCC applies a tie-breaking mechanism to select the candidates who get an invitation.
For the March 30 draw, the tie-breaking mechanism was applied to candidates who submitted their profiles on or before February 12, 2026, at 03:54:03 UTC.
This means that candidates who have a score of 802, which is the cutoff score, would only get an invitation if they submitted their Express Entry profiles before the specific date and time mentioned above.
This again emphasizes the importance of creating your Express Entry profile as early as possible.
Comparing March 2026 PNP Express Entry Draws
The March 30 draw is the third Provincial Nominee Program draw conducted in March 2026.
Here is how this draw compares to previous PNP rounds this month:
| Draw Date | Invitations | CRS Cutoff | Base Score |
| March 2, 2026 | 264 | 710 | ~110 |
| March 16, 2026 | 362 | 742 | ~142 |
| March 30, 2026 | 356 | 802 | ~202 |
The March 30 draw shows a much higher CRS cutoff than the previous two PNP rounds this month.
That suggests the latest provincial nominees invited in this round had stronger underlying CRS scores before receiving the 600-point nomination boost.
Current Express Entry Pool Analysis
As of March 29, 2026, the Express Entry pool stood at 230,186 candidates vying for permanent residence in Canada.
The number of candidates in each CRS score range provides insight into the level of competition in the pool.
| CRS score range | Number of candidates |
| 601-1200 | 351 |
| 501-600 | 11,648 |
| 451-500 | 73,445 |
| 491-500 | 13,558 |
| 481-490 | 13,075 |
| 471-480 | 16,153 |
| 461-470 | 15,421 |
| 451-460 | 15,238 |
| 401-450 | 64,782 |
| 441-450 | 14,173 |
| 431-440 | 14,334 |
| 421-430 | 12,433 |
| 411-420 | 12,348 |
| 401-410 | 11,494 |
| 351-400 | 52,655 |
| 301-350 | 19,007 |
| 0-300 | 8,298 |
| Total | 230,186 |
The presence of 73,445 candidates in the range of 451-500 CRS score indicates the high level of competition in the pool for candidates without provincial nomination.
It is worth noting that there were 351 candidates in the range of 601-1200 CRS score as of March 29, 2026. This was just a few days before this invitation round.
The pool is constantly changing with new profiles and old ones expiring. Therefore, the number of invitations issued on March 30 may vary slightly from the previous day’s pool snapshot.
For the candidates who were issued invitations in this draw, the next 60 days will be crucial in making the most out of this new opportunity for permanent residence in Canada.
For the remaining candidates in the pool, this latest PNP draw is another reminder that updating your profile or getting a provincial nomination can make all the difference.
As Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada continues with its focused approach in the coming months of 2026, Express Immigration candidates should be ready and update their profiles in the coming days in anticipation of the next draw.
